How to Get a Copy of the Microsoft ActiveX Development Kit
The Microsoft® ActiveX™ Development Kit is currently available in preliminary form for Internet developers and authors only. The components of this kit (including the preliminary versions of ActiveX, Active Scripts, OLE, ActiveVRML, and the alpha version of Internet Explorer 3.0) are meant to be used for development and testing purposes only. Please note that the Development Kit and its components are not yet available for general use and are non-redistributable.
We've provided the preliminary version of the kit in installable format below. Please note that in the longer term, Microsoft's Internet development-related technologies will be available through MSDN membership, thus ensuring that you receive the latest technology and the supporting technical information delivered to you on a regular basis.
If you would like to order a CD-ROM version of the ActiveX Development Kit for $39.95 with full-text searching capabilities and no download waiting time, please call (800) 621-7930 in the United States and Canada. (Outside the United States and Canada, please contact your local Microsoft subsidiary.) At this time, we are only taking information for orders; the CD-ROM will be available in April. The CD-ROM version of the ActiveX Development Kit will be provided to all Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Level 2 and Level 3 members free of charge.
